Academician Alexander Petrovich Lisitsyn suddenly died
On February 11, 2020, one of the founders of marine geology in Russia, a world-famous scientist, teacher, creator of his own scientific school and a unique person, academician A.P. Lisitsyn suddenly died. Farewell to Alexander Petrovich will take place on Friday February 14 at 11:00 at the IO RAS.

Happy Birthday to our Institute of Oceanology!
The Institute of Oceanology was established on January 31, 1946 by a decree of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, which prescribed "conducting research on the ocean and the seas based on the idea of the unity of physical, chemical, biological and geological processes occurring in the seas and oceans."

The research vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldysh returned from an expedition to the seas of the Eastern Arctic
