Institute of Oceanology and Fedor Konyukhov announced the beginning of scientific cooperation
One of the first projects implemented within the framework of the created cooperation will be the environmental monitoring of the World Ocean, during which Fedor Konyukhov's NOVA solar-powered catamaran will be equipped with a unique microplastic collection system developed by scientists of Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of RAS.

Scientists at the Institute of Oceanology have created a unique high-resolution 3-dimensional array of data on the state of the atmosphere in the North Atlantic

Academician Alexander Petrovich Lisitsyn suddenly died

The Institute of Oceanology was established on January 31, 1946 by a decree of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, which prescribed "conducting research on the ocean and the seas based on the idea of the unity of physical, chemical, biological and geological processes occurring in the seas and oceans."
